The Easier i602 is a flatbed barcode, RFID, and NFC boarding pass reader designed for fast passenger authentication in airport environments. Built for airline and airport passenger processing workflows, the i602 reads boarding passes from paper, mobile phones, PDAs, and contactless media, making it a flexible solution for check-in, security, boarding, and self-service applications.
The i602 supports omnidirectional reading of all major 1D and 2D barcode symbologies, including PDF417, DataMatrix, Aztec, and QR Code. This is especially important for airport operations because boarding passes may be presented in multiple formats, including printed ATB documents, Print at Home e-tickets, and mobile boarding passes on passenger smartphones. With read capability in less than 0.5 seconds, the i602 helps reduce passenger processing time and supports smoother throughput at airport checkpoints and boarding gates.
Beyond barcode reading, the i602 includes HF RFID and NFC capabilities. It supports NFCIP-1 and ISO 18092 peer-to-peer communication, data exchange speeds up to 424 kbps, and ISO 14443 A/B RFID technology. It supports Mifare, Mifare DESFire through software, Mifare Plus, and Felica technologies and can read, write, and search 13.56 MHz HF RFID tags. This gives airports and airlines a flexible platform for contactless cards, secure credentials, loyalty applications, identity workflows, and future passenger processing initiatives.
The i602 also functions as more than a reader. Its embedded Linux platform enables value-added applications, including boarding pass authentication, public and private key encryption, biometrics integration, cryptographic functions, device control, reconciliation processes, and receipt printer connectivity. The large 3.5-inch TFT-LCD color display provides passenger- and agent-visible information, while green and red LED indicators and an extra-loud buzzer give immediate operational feedback during validation.
For airport technology teams, the i602 supports CUPPS and CUSS compliance with existing platforms and includes IP, USB host and device, and serial interfaces. Configuration, diagnostics, and monitoring can be performed through a web browser, making it easier to support distributed airport deployments. Optional accessories such as a lightweight direct thermal receipt printer and an external 8.4-inch second screen allow the system to be expanded for specialized use cases.
The Easier i602 is ideal for airports, airlines, and system integrators that need a compact, high-performance boarding pass reader capable of handling physical documents, mobile boarding passes, RFID media, NFC interactions, and external passenger processing devices.
